Righi Scores 14, Legge 13 for Chargers in Loss at Scots

CRYSTAL LAKE — The Carl Sandburg College women’s basketball team closed the 2021 portion of its season with a 59-53 loss at McHenry County on Tuesday afternoon.

The Chargers (2-11), with leading scorer Addison Eger (Mendon, Ill./Unity) out for the third straight game because of injury, trailed 25-22 at halftime, but the Scots extended their lead to 44-38 after three quarters and maintained that six-point advantage at the end of the game.

Freshman forward Natalie Righi (Pekin, Ill./Pekin) led Sandburg with 14 points, and sophomore guard Kelsi Legge (Galesburg, Ill./Galesburg) tallied a career-high 13 for the visitors.

McHenry County’s Kylie Lemberger led all players with 22 points and was the lone Scot in double figures.
